WHY ME?  WHY NOW?

I have to be honest with you in that I never had any interest or desire to become a politician.
I dealt with them throughout my professional career and for the most part I felt like I had to wash my hands after each encounter.  Oh, don't get me wrong, there were a few that I considered to be somewhat decent and even considered them friends, even though I knew they were "using me" to get their positions out into the public domain.  This was early in my career when I was an anchorman, back in the 70s.  But even back then, I was already noticing the change in the national scene and how special interests were taking over the landscape.

When the movie, "Network", came out in 1976, I could not only relate to the movie, but to the most famous scene in that movie, where the fictional anchorman, Howard Beale, whose character was completely nuts by this time, told his viewers,  "I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it any more!"  And then he urged his viewers to get up out of their chairs, walk over to the window, open it up, stick their heads out and shout,  "I'm mad as hell, and I not going to take it anymore"...and the scene switched to various cities' neighborhoods where people were shouting their heads off through their open windows.  People in the audience
laughed through the scene in appreciation of the point being made and the admission of
feeling that way on occasion ourselves.

Now, fast forward a few decades into this mess we find ourselves in.   When I retired, my intent was to get lost, and remove myself from the chaotic, stress-filled world of news, and relocate into one of quiet solitude, somewhere in the woods to be near nature in a rural setting, not unlike the one of my youth, to begin a transition into writing.  I adopted two rescue dogs and began my reclusive lifestyle, which, believe me, came very easily after the life I've led.  But the problem with news is....once a newsman, ALWAYS a newsman, and I couldn't get it out of my system.  I found that I couldn't help but stay on top of the news, the issues, the players, and all the nonsense of politics and the changes, subtle at first, that were going on in Washington.  And I soon began feeling uneasy over the direction this country seemed to be heading.  At first, I thought it was just me.
But the more that I watched the more that I became certain that something sinister was indeed afoot.  The benefits of being retired, and of being somewhat reclusive is that there are no interruptions!
I became more and more angry with each passing day and newscast...until the movie, Network, re-entered my mind, for I was mad as hell, and I wasn't going to take it anymore!

But what bothered me the most was that no one, not one single Congressman, nor one
single Congressional candidate was speaking on the most serious issue of all, other than
giving it passing "lip service" in the form of well worn cliches or listing the bullet points off
of some party newsletter.  None of them offered up actionable plans or solutions to the biggest issues facing this country and its survival, which is what you come to expect from politicians since its a known fact, that the less you say, means the less someone will find a problem with you and mount a campaign against you, which is deadly for a career politician, political suicide, actually.

And that's one of the things I have going for myself.  I am NOT a politician, so I don't
give a rat's-butt about any of that.  Like my political opponents, I too will tell you what I believe in, but unlike my political opponents, I will also give you actionable plans and solutions to our biggest problems.  You will find out real quick where I stand and whether you stand with me or not.

As I stated elsewhere on this website, we are past the point for any painless solutions.  You can thank Congress for that.  But I believe Congress and the federal government should be the first ones to feel that pain!  And I mean mind-numbing, excruciating pain, which will at least have us all smiling as we finally accept our medicine.

Why now?  Well, for one thing, the progressive-socialist movement within our government has now moved their plans into overdrive as all of the pieces of their puzzle are finally in place.  And frankly,  the can has been kicked down the road for too long, and we're now
at the end of that road.  We're facing the stark reality of an economic and financial collapse, and with it, the very existence of our Republic!   Too harsh for you?   Well, explore my website as I make my case.

If anything on this website resonates with you or rings a bell somewhere, then I urge you
to support my candidacy, through donations, as a volunteer, or just through word of mouth
in your letters, e-mails, texting, or good old fashioned verbal conversations with your family
and friends.  You are living through an historic time in this country and the sand in the
hourglass is running out.

Thank you.
